Biodynamic farming is the most sustainable form of agriculture. Scientific research at FiBL (Research Institute of Organic Agriculture), which has been ongoing for 46 years, demonstrates this impressively: see long-term field trial.

Cows play a central role in the farm organism. With their highly developed digestion, they make a significant contribution to fertilization and increasing soil fertility. Animal husbandry in keeping with the nature of the animals includes feeding them with organically grown grass and hay, and in biodynamic agriculture no cows are dehorned. The cow's first milk - technically known as colostrum - is extremely rich in various immune factors. The young animals literally take over their mother's entire immune system when they suckle for the first time. Ruminants have a so-called passive immune system and are born without any defenses. Accordingly, the mother's antibodies are vital for survival. Specifically, the calf needs 4 liters of high-quality first milk in the first 6 hours. If there is a surplus, the farmer can freeze it for our production.

The percentage of immunogenic ingredients in the first milking can be over 30 percent of the dry matter. On average, the IgG content of QuraDea cow colostrum products is 25%. Many immune factors are bio-active and look the same in humans as they do in all other mammals. Accordingly, they can have a positive influence on our passive defenses.

The raw colostrum is freeze-dried unpasteurized so that the abundance of immune factors is not denatured in any way during processing. Complex microbiological laboratory analyses are necessary in order to guarantee raw milk quality in accordance with the Swiss Foodstuffs Ordinance. The wholesome end product has a quality that is unique in the world.
